Baby Charlotte

First of all... Sorry for going private for awhile. I didn't put in anyone's email so please don't be mad at me. (It's a long story, so i won't bore you with it) Anyway... I have a new baby! My due date was Sept. 13th but she wasn't not making any progress by the 15th so they induced me. It was such a breeze. I went in at 11am and had her at 6:33pm. And the best news is, she eats and it wasn't near as painful as it was with Annie. Here are some pics. The first one was a couple of days before i went in.

Petting Zoo

Last week Annie and I went to the petting zoo with my good friend Carly and her little girl. The highlight was riding the little pony around in a circle; however, as you can tell, I don't think Jocey liked it as much as Annie!

Easter Weekend

For Easter weekend we rented a houseboat at Lake Mead with ALL of Ben's family. The weather was perfect but the water was cold! One night, Mary made us virgin pina colodas and margaritas and we had a dance on the deck. (those are the pics with us dressed up) It was so fun - thanks KC and Mary.

We are excited for Annie to get a sister! They'll be almost exactly two years apart.

#2 is on the way!

For those of you who don't know, I am pregnant with our second. I am 14 weeks along and we will get to find out the gender next Wednesday. We are so excited to have another little baby! And the best news is...I eat and it doesn't come back up an hour later. YES!

Annie's world

Someone from Ben's work gave him this sweet bike for Annie, so all that day we kept telling her that Papa (she calls Ben papa) has a surprise for her when he gets home. She kept asking me "pise, papa?" Ben stopped on his way home from work and got a balloon to tie onto it and waited on the sidewalk in front of our house. When i opened the door she ran out yelling "babboo...bike...babboo". If we didn't know any better we would have thought she was crying she was so happy.

Annie's passions are: Balloons (she makes a fuss over every one she sees and since about three months ago she draws them on everything.) Umbrellas (If anyone mentions the word rain she yells "ehya" and runs to the closet to get the umbrella)

Favorite Foods: Scrambled eggs with cheese and fruit snacks

Drink of choice: "Appa joose" repeated 10 times

Favorite pass-time: Mothering every other kid that will let her and if she can't find a kid she'll settle for her baby dolls.

Love You Long Time

Ben and I felt like teeny boppers again. We went to my friends concert at the Electric Theater the other night and the whole time we were jumping around and dancing with all the thirteen year olds. We can't lie, we LOVED it!

Half Marathon

By far the most difficult thing i've done physically. It was pretty intense but we finished and want to do another in the future. When we were done Annie came over to Ben and gave him a heartfelt hug (so cute).

Halloween

We went to our friends sons birthday party to start out the night. She did some fun Halloween snacks and a cute monster cake. Then we went to the "trunk or treating" here in town. I've decided I don't like trunk or treating as much. I don't like walking in a line of kids that don't have to do anything but hold out their bag and occasionally grab for their treat. I wish it was the same as it once was...no trunks, just walking door to door to door and yelling "trick or treat" to get that "much wanted" candy that you only received on Halloween. Oh well we still had a great time!

This is my cute niece and nephew. We spent the night trick or treating with them and my sister has everyone over for chili after.

Chickens

We have a new addition to our family... CHICKENS!

Annie loves them and every time she gets done eating breakfast she says "boh boh" and runs to the back door. Ben, his Dad, and brothers helped build their coop. (Thanks guys!) It's quite nice with some doors to collect the eggs and a back door to clean up the crap.

Red High Heels

We have had a model staying with us lately. Annie LOVES putting my high heels on and clacking around the house. Last night, Ben and i were in the front room both reading a book and we heard a clack, clack, clack down the hall. We both looked up and watched with anticipation to see what shoe it would be this time. She entered the room, stopped and waited for our response, then proceeded around our coffee table and back in the bedroom clacking all the way. Ben and i both looked at each other and smirked. Then a few minutes later we heard the clacking begin again. She had changed high heels and was back. She waited at the entrance of the room and then trudged her way, once again, around the coffee table and back to the bedroom. Girls!

Glad to be 28!!!

Yep, you read right. I am glad to be 28. And even more glad that I'm not a teenager.

And what made me think of this?

While reading facebook i came across this cute "pucker lips picture". (Sorry Syd. your picture was perfect for my post)

and I thought to myself "These girls would look so much cuter with big smiles on their faces."

What is wrong with a cute smile? I imagine that they believe that it gives them an aura of sophistication and maturity. I just want to tell them “It's okay to look happy and fun, guys will still like you.” Did they ever think that guys are sick of seeing the same look on every girls face.

Then I began thinking about how I would hate to look down and see that the extension of my arm wasn’t my wrist, but a cell phone. To know that if I were to misplace my phone it could cost me my social life. I liked that when a boy asked me on a date he really had to talk to me. And if some immature pubescent wanted to tell me he liked me there was no way he could be telling ten other girls at the same time through a mass text.

Well, call me old fashioned but I didn't take every High School picture with my lips puckered, I didn't meet Ben on-line, and the first time he told me he loved me I wasn't reading it, and that's how it should be! (please don't be offended if you do or have done any of the above)

Oh and on a side note; 28 is way better than 30!

A good reason for a recall

When i was visiting my Mom last week i put Annie in my nieces walker. As I was turned around putting a dinner in the oven i heard "thud, thud, thud, scream" It dawned on me what had just happened. Sure enough i found Annie still in the walker on its back at the bottom of the stairs. I felt so bad. Our friend kept saying it looked like she had bacon on her nose...pics later

For Annie's first birthday we had a small get together at our house. We had family and close friends. She was a little hesitant about her cake at first but caught on quick!

Californ I A !

We went to California with Ben's brother Burke and his wife Teresa the past few days and we had a great time! Annie was, hmm(for lack of a better word)...busy, but we had fun!

4th of July

We celebrated the fourth of July with family. We went to dinner for Teresa's birthday and to Kate's for fireworks. Low key but a great time! Annie really didn't care much about the fireworks. Every once in awhile she would point up at them and say "dat". Hmm, maybe next year.

Hurray we finally have a recent family picture. We all got a little bit of a tan and happen to be in decent clothes so I had Kate and Graham take a few shots of us as a family. We have to take advantage of these times, they don't happen often.

I want to be back here! We went to the beach with some friends a few days ago. We had such a good time.
